Upper Missinaibi River, Ontario
The scenery is beautiful as the river winds its way north to James Bay, passing through the Canadian Shield. The river is remote and the access is limited, making wildlife viewing remarkable and the fishing fantastic. The Missinaibi has it all, flat water, moving water and class I-III rapids, a true paddler’s paradise.
This is a great trip for those wishing to take the next step beyond lake paddling and/or Boundary Waters tripping.
Along the way, each paddler develops skills in whitewater canoeing, scouting, route planning, and river safety. Before each descent, paddlers practice their new skills in scouting and river judgment to make sure they are 100% confident in the routes and the maneuvers they will be using. Education and skill development have always been and will continue to be a corner-stone of all RiverSport Adventures trips.
The evening before our departure, we will meet at Missinaibi Lake to distribute and organize group and personal gear for our departure in the morning of the 9th. Over the course of our adventure, we will paddle, scout, instruct, camp, fish, view wildlife, and have lots of fun as we explore the Missinaibi.
